Netbriefings provides webcast technology for 250-school conference
All-day law conference at Seton Hall Law School attended by students and professors across the country
St. Paul, Minnesota - October 5, 2006 -
Netbriefings, a full-service webcast technology provider that specializes in secure and large-audience Internet broadcasts, supplied the webcast technology for "Guantánamo: How Should We Respond?," a large conference that took place today at Seton Hall University School of Law and was broadcast over the Internet.
Students, professors and other participants from more than 250 schools in 44 states sought to participate in this conference. Additionally, many of the participating schools wanted to send a large number of representatives to the conference. Netbriefings' webcasting technology allowed the students and professors to attend the conference virtually, removing many logistical challenges for Seton Hall Law School.
"We received an overwhelming interest from colleagues and schools around the world wanting to attend the conference," said Professor Mark Denbeaux, professor of law at Seton Hall University School of Law, "but it was not logistically or financially realistic for everyone to fly in and physically be present. We then began exploring the concept of webcasting the conference live over the Internet."
"We chose Netbriefings as our webcast provider because of its expertise in large group webcasts and its high-touch, managed service approach," said Carmelo Lubrano, assistant dean of legal computing, communications and IT at Seton Hall University School of Law. "As a result, we were able to successfully reach our worldwide audience with minimal headaches."
Netbriefings provides a full range of services for companies looking to reach large audiences with high-quality broadcasts, deep audience-statistics reporting and built-in methods for repurposing content for future use. For Seton Hall School of Law, Netbriefings removed logistical hurdles and ensured the conference would be broadcast without trouble, despite the large audience.
"By broadcasting this conference over the Web, Seton Hall Law School was able to deliver the conference to participating schools without trouble," said Gary Anderson, president and CEO of Netbriefings. "And with archives stored online, schools are able to select the webcast sessions that would best fit their curricula."
